Happy Independence Day! Hope this post finds everyone happy, healthy, and safe, and of course COOL!
May and June were busy months for CHAI, hopefully we got to see you at one of our Spring events! Happy Hour, Book Club, and the Jewelry Show Fundraiser were each huge successes and such wonderful opportunities to bring together CHAI supporters, old and new, and reinforce the importance of our mission.
We just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of upcoming opportunities to get involved with CHAI. Our July board meeting will be held on Sunday, July 15th at 10:00 am in Baltimore. We will be discussing the annual awards luncheon, which is an event that always needs many volunteers to help plan and organize. All CHAI members are welcome to attend board meetings, however, only board members are able to vote, should one arise. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for the address if you would like to attend.
Another exciting event coming up is this month’s book club meeting, which will be held on July 22nd at 1:00 pm in Bethesda. The Book Club selection this month is ‘A Walk Across the Sun‘ by Corban Addison. Mr. Addison has confirmed that he will participate in the book club discussion via Skype! Pleas let us know if you’re interested in attending. RSVP to email@example.com by 07/19/2012 for the address and with any discussion questions of topics you would like to ask the author.
As always, we would love to see you at a meeting or event and there always plenty of ways to donate your time and energy as a volunteer in support of CHAI’s mission to provide outreach, referral and educational services to the South Asian community on issues related to mental health and wellness in the Baltimore / Washington metropolitan area. CHAI also works with mental health professionals and social services agencies to increase their cultural proficiency when working with the South Asian community.
Additionally, if you have local business connections that are interested in partnering with CHAI, please let us know as we are always looking to expand our community partnerships and will be seeking donations and sponsorship for our upcoming Annual Community Awards Luncheon.
