CHAI Internship Opportunity
Counselors Helping (South) Asian/ Indians, Inc.
CHAI’s mission is to provide education and referrals to the South Asian community on issues related to mental health and wellness in the Baltimore/ Washington DC Metropolitan Area and to increase cultural competency among mental health professionals working with the South Asian community.
Intern applicants should be motivated self – starters, willing to commit about 10 hours per week to CHAI’s mission. Activities include monthly board meetings; web – based and face to face networking, outreach, and fundraising; collaboration with development and grant – writing committees to support CHAI’s growth; and serving ad hoc sub committees to assist in planning annual events, i.e. awards gala and clinical conference.
Intern should be able to brainstorm creative ideas about marketing CHAI and connecting consumers to services as well as work in a team environment, especially email and conference call based.
Intern should be comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Publisher; Google wiki spaces; email; PDF; and internet.
