South Asians Building Cultural Connections for Healthy Relationships

HopeWorks of Howard County in partnership with CHAI (Counselors Helping [South] Asians/Indians) will host a Kitchen Table Discussion Collaborative titled “South Asians Building Cultural Connections for Healthy Relationships” on Sunday October 26, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Howard County Library, East Columbia Branch, 6600 Cradlerock Way, in Columbia, Maryland. During this free event, community members will explore the complexities of love and family, barriers to healthy relationships and the resources available to help create peaceful homes and lives. HopeWorks’ Kitchen Table Discussion Collaborative events are held several times a year providing the opportunity to focus on the needs, concerns and wellness issues of community-specific populations.

HopeWorks of Howard County, formerly known as the Domestic Violence Center, works to create a community in which sexual and domestic violence is not tolerated and where victims can get individualized, comprehensive services including  shelter, counseling, advocacy and legal services.  HopeWorks also has a robust public education department with a special focus on prevention, educating youth and engaging men in ending the violence.
